week 2 Term 3.

Good afternoon everyone,

Literacy/Christian Studies
In literacy this term we are inquiring into picture books. As part of the unit students will create an audio of themselves reading a picture book of their choice. We are encouraging them to bring in a book that they enjoy reading aloud or find one in the library to assist them in this experience.
We are incorporating picture books about Jesus and investigating aspects of his life and also the stories he told. It will be a great opportunity to learn about his life and when and how he lived.
Focus points
- major events in Jesus's life
- parables he told
- the prophecies about Jesus
- how he was the fulfillment of God's plan.

Curious Unit of Inquiry
Last week we started a new Unit of Inquiry and our focus is on Energy.
Image result for energy play on wordsWe are investigating energy and the first part is about energy in nature.
Our first inquiry was to answer some big questions that we had about energy in nature. We were very impressed with the work completed and the different ways students thought of to express their new findings.

We look forward to where these ideas will propel us in the ongoing inquiry.

Culminating Thought
Trees are relieved when spring comes.
