Harnessing energy models
Thanks for the wonderful effort in supporting your child to create models that harness energy! We were amazed at the thought and detail many students put into their work and commend everyone for their commitment.

Concert costumes
Hopefully you have booked your tickets to come to the Upper Primary School Concert. Check emails and notes home for information regarding costumes.

Excursion
Next week Thursday September 5th we are going to The Food Forest as a tuning in experience for this years Exhibition. Look for a form to return by Friday this week.

Our Generation
A group of dedicated journalists from Year 6 are excited to announce that a regular newsletter called Our Generation will appear as hard copy fortnightly with the school newsletter and to the side of the Senior Unit blog under notes that should have gone home.
Congratulations to those involved and we look forward to reading your updates.

Bike Ed- Term 4
A letter will come out with more detail later but until then consider if you can send your bike in and check it is in a safe working condition.

Student Photo Day Wednesday 28 August
  • If you haven’t yet returned the envelope please do so tomorrow (or Weds latest),  even if you are not placing an order
  • Family envelopes for sibling group photos available in the office
  • What to wear:  Year 2-6 students will need to wear their full formal winter uniform including the green jumper.   Foundation & year 1 students will wear their sports uniform including the rugby jumper
  • If your child is absent Weds the photographers will be a back on Monday 9 Sept to take any individual photos.

Father’s Day Stall Thursday 29 August
  • Each class will go shopping & can buy a gift for dad, grandpa or that special person
  • Gifts range from $1 to $5 – please bring your small change

  • The PROGRAM will go home with students this Friday.

Upper Primary Concert Costumes
Eckermann- Students wear casual clothes that are red, navy, black, white or neutral shades with no large labeling or symbols (as plain as possible).

This Thursday is the dress up for Book Week. We encourage Seniors to get involved and take part in the fun. The theme for Book Week 2019 is...

Sand pit donations
Our Student Parliament has looked into the need for some equipment for the upper sandpit. 
So we are asking for donations. If you have anything like metal or plastic shovels, buckets, cake tins, saucepans please place them into the basket out the front of the school office or Taikondi.


Thought for the day
If you ever feel cold, just stand in a corner. They are usually around 90 degrees!

  • Last chance to enter for the ICAS tests.  Please return forms and payment tomorrow Tuesday 20 August
  • Student’s in year 2 to 6 can participate in these.  Subjects are Digital Technologies, Science, Writing, Spelling, English and Mathematics.

Whispering wall excursion

As a special investigation into sound waves, Year 6's will be going on alternate Fridays to the Whispering wall, with Mr. Semmler's class going on Friday 16 August and Mrs. Eckermann's class going on Friday 23rd August. The mini excursion will be held between 1.40 and 3.15pm.

Sport uniform - Mr Hueppauff has requested that students wear their sport uniform on Thursdays while they are practicing for concert. 
This arrangement will be from week 3 until week 8 only.
Sport uniform is Monday Tuesday and Thursday, 
Formal -Wednesday and Friday until after concert.

Congratulations to the two Immanuel bands that competed in the Balaklava Eisteddford last Friday. All the students did a fantastic job representing our school and proudly came away with a First and Third placing. Wonderful effort and support of each other was witnessed by Mr. H. Our thanks to Mr. H also for the time and dedication he displays getting the best out of our students.


Gawler Show is Sat 24 and Sun 25 August and the school will be having a stall and asking for some year 6’s and their parent to volunteer on it.

  • Sunday 11 August starts at 6pm with BBQ Tea followed by the movie in the Taikondi
