Week 3 Term 3

Sport uniform - Mr Hueppauff has requested that students wear their sport uniform on Thursdays while they are practicing for concert. 
This arrangement will be from week 3 until week 8 only.
Sport uniform is Monday Tuesday and Thursday, 
Formal -Wednesday and Friday until after concert.

Congratulations to the two Immanuel bands that competed in the Balaklava Eisteddford last Friday. All the students did a fantastic job representing our school and proudly came away with a First and Third placing. Wonderful effort and support of each other was witnessed by Mr. H. Our thanks to Mr. H also for the time and dedication he displays getting the best out of our students.


Gawler Show is Sat 24 and Sun 25 August and the school will be having a stall and asking for some year 6’s and their parent to volunteer on it.  
Please register your name on the online booking form via www.schoolinterviews.com.au booking code hq375 or let the office know if you can help for a 2 hour block.   Ideally we need one student and one adult at each time slot.  Your admission will be care of Immanuel School.

ThinkUKnow Cyber Safety Education Program

Monday 26 August at 7pm in Taikondi


Movie Night “This Day Forward” at Immanuel School
  • Sunday 11 August starts at 6pm with BBQ Tea followed by the movie in the Taikondi
  • School families welcome to attend, no need to book just come if you can.  FREE EVENT!
  • Organised by the Gawler Lutheran Church.  Daryl Trigg, Jo Chamberlain and some other staff will be here too. 
  • The movie is a story that connects strongly with teens and adults who desire to talk about how to support the carers of people who are suffering.  Meet the guest speakers Brian Ide and Jen Jensen

Worship and Praise
  • Friday 9 August 9am with Miss Gross’ and her Foundation’s – all welcome to attend
Assembly
  • Monday 12 August 2.40pm with the Year 2’s – all welcome to attend

VSC Volunteer Training next Wednesday 14 August at 2.30pm or 6.30pm with Daryl
  • This training is a must if you want to attend an excursion, camp or help with a group of children.
    It needs to be renewed every 3 years, so if you attended a session in 2016 you will need to update again this year.  

Big Science Show Thursday 15 August 6.30pm - 7.30pm
  • For parents and children.  Tickets are $5 each or a Family price $20. 
  • Come early for a FREE Sausage Sizzle at 6pm.

Book week dress up day Thursday 22 August
  • Students can dress up in their favourite book character costume for the day
  • Parade starts at 9am in Taikondi.  Parents welcome to come and watch
Student Photo Day Wednesday 28 August
  • Ordering envelopes going home today.  Please return by Friday 23 August.  These need to be returned even if you are not placing an order.   Payment via cash, money order or online credit card via the photographer – follow the instructions on the envelope.
  • Family envelopes for sibling group photos available from the office

ThinkUKnow Cyber Safety Education Program
Monday 26 August at 7pm in Taikondi
  • This parent information session will cover issues relating to children and young peoples’ privacy and security online.  It will provide an insight into the devices young people are using including popular websites, apps and social networking sites.
  • Year 4, 5 & 6 students will be have a session during the afternoon so do not need to attend the evening.
